In February 2009 the unemployment rate for Medicine Hat-Lethbridge was 4.7%. The 2007 Alberta Wage and Salary Survey for the Lethbridge-Medicine Hat region showed that the average hourly wage for accountants was $27.14, $22.38 for truck drivers and $7.88 for food and beverage servers.
