LEAN Manufacturing Workshop Medicine Hat

Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD), along with Community Futures and the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta is providing the opportunity for all service and manufacturing companies to learn more about lean manufacturing principles. Companies can find ways to remove waste in their operations and processes and increase customer value.
What to Expect at the WorkshopThis half-day workshop will consist of a series of short lectures, discussion sessions and simulations. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will: · Know where ‘Lean Thinking’ originated from; · Understand the Lean Principles. · Learn about value from the ‘Customer’s Perspective’. · Realize what the term ‘non-value added’ means. · Be able to identify the ‘8 Forms of Waste.; · Know how to map out processes to assist in the recognition of the opportunities for improvement. · Be introduced to the 5 S’s, a simple technique that removes waste from the workplace through better organization, visual communication and general cleanliness. · Know how to apply the 5 S’s and Lean Thinking practices to their workplace.Medicine HatThursday, February 11, 2010Noon - 4:00pm
