INVENTORS, INNOVATORS AND GROWING COMPANIES WANTED

Do you have a prototype or technology related product or service that you are trying to market? Are you looking for assistance? Then call Pete Loignon, Innovation Facilitator for the Economic Development Alliance of South Eastern Alberta

The Innovation Facilitator position is a direct result of interviews conducted this spring by the Economic Development Alliance with manufacturers and the oil and gas industry. These companies indicated that they needed help to take technology they have developed to market. Funding from the Industrial Research Assistance Program of the National Research Canada Council made this possible.

Pete will assist primarily by connecting companies with the appropriate programs and people to move their technology or innovation opportunities forward. His background in aviation and aerospace combined with personal business ownership and consulting in streamlining company processes will benefit local companies. Newly arrived from the Maritimes and fully bilingual, the EDA already has him meeting with companies to diversify their businesses.

This assistance, which is no cost to residents of the region, is available for all types of industries such as Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Aviation and Aerospace, Energy, Manufacturing or High Tech. Interested persons can contact Pete through the EDA at 403 488-7015.

“I am ready to meet local inventors in their shops in Bow Island, the fields of Cypress County or a coffee shop in between. My role is help people get money for research and development, gain patent information, build proto types or whatever it is that is preventing them from going to market” says an excited Loignon.

Pete and the EDA are working with community partners like Community Futures, Medicine Hat College and DRDC along with numerous private companies and groups in strengthening Southeast Alberta’s technology and innovation sector. We are positioning the region as a sunny, smart, savvy and hospitable place to do business at the leading edge of innovation and technology.
